For an Environmental Engineer (ANZSCO 233915), Engineers Australia assesses your qualification, with the qualification pathway available for accredited or recognised degrees and the Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) pathway otherwise. The CDR comprises three career episodes, a summary statement and CPD.

Can a civil engineer be assessed as an Environmental Engineer?
Engineers Australia assesses against the nominated occupation based on your qualification and demonstrated competencies. If your degree and career episodes evidence environmental engineering competencies, Environmental Engineer (233915) may fit; if they are broader civil work, another code may be more accurate. Nominate the occupation that genuinely matches your background.
Is a CDR always required?
No. If your engineering qualification is accredited or recognised by Engineers Australia, you can usually use the qualification pathway. The CDR is required where the qualification is not recognised. Either way, any CDR must be your own work.
