Engineers Australia: accredited qualification pathway vs Engineers Australia: Competency Demonstration Report
An engineer whose degree is accredited under the Washington, Sydney or Dublin Accords, or recognised by Engineers Australia, is assessed on the qualification, with the transcript and the degree, quickly; an engineer whose degree is not accredited writes a Competency Demonstration Report, three career episodes, a summary statement and a continuing professional development list, demonstrating the competencies the occupation requires, and is assessed on it over months. The pathway is set by the degree, not chosen; the choice an engineer has is whether to add the employment assessment and the relevant skilled employment claim for points, which both pathways allow. A CDR that copies published examples is detected and refused.

Which side of that line you fall on depends on facts a table cannot hold — your age, score, occupation's lists, and what evidence you can actually assemble. That is consultation territory, not guesswork territory.
