About the CPD →What the check covers
- Can the business sponsor? Trading status, how long it has operated, and whether Standard Business Sponsorship (A$420, five years) is likely to be approved.
- Does the role fit an occupation? The right occupation for the duties actually done, and whether it is on the list for the stream you need.
- Is the salary right? At or above A$79,423 and the market rate for the role, and what evidence will show it.
- Labour market testing. Whether advertising is needed, what it must say and for how long, or whether the worker is exempt.
- Refusal risks. The genuine-position test and anything about this business or role that a case officer will question, with how to fix it before lodging.
- The worker's side. Experience, English and skills-assessment needs, and whether their current visa allows the plan.
- The cost, in full. Every government charge the employer pays (nomination A$330, the training levy) and a fixed quote for WIDEN to lodge it.
Why it matters
"Not a genuine position" is the most common ground for refusing a 482 nomination, and a refused nomination costs the employer the charges paid and months of waiting. Most refusals trace back to things that can be fixed before lodging: the wrong occupation for the duties, a salary that does not match the market, or advertising that does not meet the rules. The readiness check finds them while they are still cheap to fix.

Questions we get asked first
What does the readiness check cost?
A$500 + GST (A$550 in total), credited in full against the fixed fee if you then engage WIDEN to lodge the sponsorship, nomination or visa.
What do I get?
A written report within five business days: whether the business can be a sponsor, whether the role and occupation fit, whether the salary meets the threshold and the market rate, how labour market testing applies, the refusal risks for this role and how to fix them, the documents you will need, and a fixed quote for lodging.
Why not just book a consultation?
You can. The readiness check is for employers who want the answer in writing, to show a business partner or accountant, without a call. A consultation is A$330 and done by video.
Is the worker charged anything?
No. Sponsorship and nomination costs, including this check, are the employer's. The law stops an employer recovering them from the worker.
How do I pay?
Send the details below. Keshab confirms the scope by email and sends a tax invoice to pay by card. The five business days start when it is paid.
