VETASSESS full skills assessment vs VETASSESS points test advice

The full skills assessment is the outcome the visa needs: VETASSESS assesses the qualification against the occupation and, for most of its occupations, at least a year of relevant post-qualification employment, and issues the positive outcome the Department requires at invitation. Points test advice is an optional addition that assesses the applicant’s employment history and qualifications for the purpose of claiming points, so that the years of skilled employment claimed in the expression of interest are the years VETASSESS will confirm. The full assessment is mandatory; the advice is for the applicant whose points claim rests on employment the Department may question, and it is applied for with the full assessment or after it.

The honest verdict

Which side of that line you fall on depends on facts a table cannot hold — your age, score, occupation's lists, and what evidence you can actually assemble. That is consultation territory, not guesswork territory.
