PTE Academic vs OET
For a health professional both tests serve the visa and, at the right grades, the registration board, so the choice is which one you will score higher on: the OET uses clinical scenarios, case notes and patient letters that nurses, doctors and allied health workers already write, while PTE Academic is a general computer-marked test of academic English with results in days and a format that rewards practice. Candidates strong in everyday clinical English and weaker in abstract writing tend to do better on the OET; candidates who test well and want speed tend to prefer PTE. Anyone outside the twelve health professions cannot sit the OET and chooses between PTE and IELTS.

Which side of that line you fall on depends on facts a table cannot hold — your age, score, occupation's lists, and what evidence you can actually assemble. That is consultation territory, not guesswork territory.
