IELTS One Skill Retake vs A full resit
A candidate who missed the required score in one component of IELTS can retake that component alone within 60 days of the original test and receive a new result that combines the retaken component with the original three, at a lower fee and with the three good scores kept. The Department accepts results that include a One Skill Retake for most visas, but not, on the most recent published position, for the 482 and the 485, which need all four components from a single sitting. A skilled, partner or citizenship applicant uses the retake; a 482 or 485 applicant sits the whole test again, and anyone with a test that is near its validity limit checks the dates before choosing.

Which side of that line you fall on depends on facts a table cannot hold — your age, score, occupation's lists, and what evidence you can actually assemble. That is consultation territory, not guesswork territory.
