Subclass 407 · Training plans · Sequential since 11 Mar 2026

The 407 is a specialist's visa. This is the specialist other agents learn it from.

Since 11 March 2026 the 407 runs strictly in sequence — sponsorship, then nomination, then visa — and the nomination stands or falls on the training plan. Keshab Chapagain (MARN 1576536) wrote the OMARA-approved CPD registered agents take on exactly this, drafts plans at fixed fees with a free pathway assessment first, and refunds in full when no viable pathway exists — because a plan drafted into a doomed nomination helps nobody.

Why this practice for a 407

Most agents see a handful of 407s in a career; this practice built its core work on them. The credential trail is public: the OMARA-approved CPD modules on the 407 that other registered agents complete were written and are delivered by Keshab Chapagain (MARN 1576536 — verify), fellow agents buy the practice's nomination documentation white-label, and a current ART matter keeps the refusal patterns current, not theoretical.

For sponsors

The engagement starts with the free pathway assessment — which regulation 2.72B pathway, if any, your training program fits. If none is viable you are told so and refunded; if one is, the plan is drafted to it: structured components, hours, supervision, assessment, tailored to the nominee's actual gap and consistent with your capability evidence. Delivered editable, one revision round, under a costs agreement you accept before any payment. The packs in detail →

For trainees

You can fund the plan, but the engagement forms with your sponsor — they confirm it with one click on a costs agreement, and if they do not confirm within 7 days you are refunded automatically and in full. That structure exists to protect you from paying for a document your sponsor never intended to use. Unsure whether your situation supports a 407 at all — especially with a visa expiry approaching the sequential timeline? That is the $220 consultation, credited if you engage.

For fellow registered agents

Documents-only, white-label: pathway assessment, plan, gap and capacity reports, supporting evidence — delivered in editable Word with your formatting, your client stays yours, priced fixed and in writing. The white-label service →

Questions we get asked first

Why is WIDEN a specialist on the 407 specifically?

Keshab Chapagain (MARN 1576536, OMARA-registered since 2015) wrote the OMARA-approved CPD other registered agents take on 407 pathway selection and training plans (activity DN645, and the foundation module DN612), prepares 407 nomination documentation white-label for fellow agents, and currently has a 407 nomination matter before the Administrative Review Tribunal — which is a longer way of saying he knows exactly where these applications fail.

What changed in March 2026 and why does it matter so much?

From 11 March 2026 the three stages became strictly sequential: the sponsorship must be approved, then the nomination, and only then can a valid visa application be lodged. Approvals take months, so onshore applicants whose current visa is expiring can run out of road — the sequence must be planned backwards from the expiry date, and started early.

What does the training plan actually have to show?

That the program is genuine, structured occupational training — tailored to the nominee's actual gap, with components, hours, supervision and assessment — and not ordinary work relabelled. The work-versus-training boundary is where most refusals live. A plan drafted to the selected regulation 2.72B pathway, consistent with the nominee's CV and the sponsor's capability evidence, is the core of a defensible nomination.

What are the fixed fees?

Training plan only: $1,000 + GST, after a free mandatory pathway assessment (refunded in full if no viable reg 2.72B pathway exists). Core pack — assessment, detailed skills mapping, gap report, training-capacity report and the plan — $2,000 + GST. Full pack with supporting nomination evidence and a pre-lodgement audit: $2,800 + GST. A written review of an existing plan (the Plan Check): $500 + GST with a report in 2 business days. Consultations: $220 inc. GST (30 min) or $440 (60 min), credited toward any engagement.

Who is the client — the sponsor, the trainee, or an agent?

Any of the three, with the engagement structured correctly for each: sponsors engage directly (the training plan is the sponsor's document, and the costs agreement is provided before any payment); trainees can fund a plan only with the sponsor's recorded confirmation of the engagement, protected by an automatic full refund if the sponsor does not confirm within 7 days; and fellow registered agents use the white-label documents-only service and keep their client.
