What Bangladeshi applicants usually get wrong

Practical preparation notes — the avoidable issues that most often slow down or unsettle otherwise good applications from Bangladesh.

• A template Genuine Student statement. GS refusals are the single biggest risk for Bangladeshi student files. The statement has to explain why this course, at this level, in Australia makes sense against your academic history and what it leads to afterwards — in your own words, consistent with everything else in the file.
• Funds that appear from nowhere. Large deposits made shortly before lodgement invite refusal. Show the history of the money: salary or business income, registered land-sale deeds, or education loans from recognised banks — with the paper trail that connects the source to the account.
• Spelling drift across certificates. SSC and HSC certificates, the NID and the passport frequently spell the same name differently. Reconcile or formally explain every variation before lodging; unexplained mismatches slow verification at every later stage.
• Ignoring the CDR requirement for engineers. Bangladesh is not a Washington Accord signatory, so engineering graduates — including from the strongest universities — prepare a Competency Demonstration Report for Engineers Australia.
