The Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) is a permanent visa for skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian state or territory government. Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for subclass 190, you must:

  • Be under 45 years of age at time of invitation (with exceptions in some cases).

  • Meet health, character, and identity requirements.
  • Demonstrate competence in English (unless an exemption applies).

Application Process

  1. Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, choosing your preferred state/territory and listing your skills, points, and qualifications.
  2. Receive Invitation to Apply when a state or territory nominates your EOI.
  3. Lodge your visa application within 60 days of the invitation, submitting all required documentation and evidence.
  4. Assessment & decision — If your application satisfies all criteria, your visa is granted permanently.
